Where abundance becomes purpose. We sow altruism in those who have the capacity to give it, and we sustain those who need it most with the most basic things: hygienic dignity and personal care.

We channel direct financial aid to the projects in Guatemala, Costa Rica and El Salvador, and we offer structured volunteering opportunities where every participant builds skills and a lasting commitment to community.

Guatemala

Faith turned into work. In Guatemala, Hope & Mission supports projects that bring together formation, education, spiritual life, culture and service. The aim is not simply to build spaces, but to create places able to form, accompany and serve each person and each family in every dimension of their life.

We work with two local foundations: FUNDENAL, which is building the church in San José Pinula and runs the apostolate that travels across the country, and FUMISERICORDIA, which brings concrete help to those going through times of need.

A church for formation and spiritual life

FUMISERICORDIA

Projects that build hope

Hope & Mission seeks to support projects that answer people’s deepest needs and contribute to the integral development of communities. In Guatemala, that vision takes shape in projects that bring together formation, education, spiritual life, culture, care and service.

A church for formation and spiritual life

In San José Pinula a church is currently under construction and has already reached roughly 75 % completion.

The project aims for it to be far more than a place of worship: a space for formation, encounter and spiritual renewal; a true ‘hospital of souls’, where people can draw near to God, find consolation, receive formation and strengthen their lives.

Given its character and scale, the hope is that it will also become a heritage of great value for Guatemala, and a concrete expression of the true face of the Church: a close presence that welcomes, forms, accompanies and brings hope.

An integrated complex near Guatemala City

Alongside the church, an integrated complex is planned near Guatemala City, in the area of Zona 10, Zona 14 or the start of Carretera a El Salvador. It is conceived as a space where different initiatives can grow together, meeting the spiritual, educational, cultural and human needs of children, young people and families.

100+

Catholic school

An integral formation combining academic excellence, religious and human formation, culture and solid values. Music will play a particularly important role, developing young people’s artistic gifts and their sensitivity to beauty.

250

Chapel open to the public

At the service of the people of the city: Mass, confession and spiritual direction, catechesis, activities for families and moments of prayer.

10

House for community life

The conditions needed to live, to be formed and to sustain the community life that makes the work of formation, care and service possible.

A response to concrete needs

These projects are born of needs felt across Guatemalan society: the need for solid Catholic formation, families who need support and guidance, young people looking for an education grounded in firm principles, and people seeking places of spiritual care and accompaniment.

A child can find education and formation; a young person, a place to develop their gifts and discover an ideal; a family, guidance and accompaniment; and someone searching for God, a place where they can be welcomed and cared for.

The impact we seek

The real goal is measured not in square metres built but in lives that can be transformed. The church will widen the spaces for formation and spiritual life; the school will form new generations; the chapel will bring spiritual care closer to many people in the city; and the house will make it possible to sustain the community life this mission requires.

Hope & Mission’s support allows this vision to begin becoming real. Each project is an opportunity to reach more people and to create places that can go on bearing fruit for many years.

To build hope is to build places where people can be formed, welcomed, accompanied and helped to discover a higher horizon for their lives.

El Salvador

Healing the soul, building the future. In El Salvador we go beyond the material: we are helping build a spirituality centre and we sustain spaces where the community receives not only aid but human and spiritual accompaniment.

We provide education and teaching materials, donate school supplies, supply basic food and create play spaces where learning mixes with the joy of being together.

Building with faith

A spirituality centre dedicated to Our Lady of Fátima, in Apopa

Building with faith

On Boulevard Constitución, kilometre 8, in the municipality of Apopa, a spirituality centre dedicated to Our Lady of Fátima is going up. Every contribution it receives is one step closer to finishing it.

A church raised with the help of many

The site sits in the metropolitan area of San Salvador, at the entrance to Apopa, on open ground with a view of the volcano.

It is not only a building project: it is a place meant for encounter, prayer and the life of faith of Salvadoran families, who will have there a space of their own to gather and support one another.

Built brick by brick

The project moves forward on contributions measured in bricks and in square metres. Every donation, however small, is one step closer to finishing the church, and those who give are kept informed of how the work advances.

$25

One brick

The smallest contribution, and the most common one. Everything else starts from it.

$600

Half a square metre

Half a metre of wall standing: ground, stone and labour already in place.

$1,200

One square metre

A full square metre of the church, from the foundations to the vault.

What can already be seen

The structure is standing and the façade has taken its final shape. What was bare concrete not long ago is now a nave of pale stone set against the landscape.

And the building is already in use before it is finished: the first celebrations are held on the site and fill the forecourt, with hundreds of people accompanying every stage.

The impact we seek

Once complete, the church will be far more than a building: a place of prayer and formation, open to families across the metropolitan area of San Salvador.

Hope & Mission’s support keeps each stage moving and lets the work grow until it can open its doors.

Every contribution is one step closer to this project: a home for the faith of a whole people.

Aula de clase

Costa Rica

Shaping the future, integrating the present. There are thousands of talented young people without clear paths, and migrant families who arrive looking for a better life and find uncertainty.

We train young people in technology skills, we accompany them with personalized mentoring and we sustain migrant families with basic food and direct support for their children.
